CTS 2026: what it is, how much you get, when it is deposited and how to withdraw it

What is CTS?

CTS (Compensación por Tiempo de Servicios) is a savings fund the company deposits in your name at a bank, for when you lose your job. It is not deducted from your salary: the company pays it.

Who gets it?

  • General regime: yes, if you work on average 4 hours or more a day.
  • Small business: yes, half: 15 days' pay per year.
  • Microenterprise: no, unless your contract includes it.
  • If you work less than 4 hours a day, you don't get it.

When is it deposited?

Twice a year:

  • By 15 May, for the work from November to April.
  • By 15 November, for the work from May to October.

After each deposit, the company must give you a certificate.

How much is it?

In the general regime, each deposit is half of your "computable pay": your salary, plus family allowance if you get it, plus one sixth of the half-year's gratificación. Over a year it adds up to about one and a sixth months' salary. If you only worked part of the half-year, you get the proportional part by months and days.

For example, on the minimum wage (S/ 1,130) and a full half-year worked, the November deposit is about S/ 659.

Can I withdraw my CTS?

Yes. Until 31 December 2026 you can withdraw 100% of your CTS, with its interest. Ask your bank directly. From 2027 the law provides for partial withdrawals.

What if it wasn't deposited?

  1. Check your CTS account at the bank after the 15th.
  2. Ask the company in writing for your deposit certificate.
  3. If it wasn't deposited, report it to SUNAFIL, anonymously if you prefer. The company must deposit your CTS plus interest.

Legal basis: TUO DL 650 (DS 001-97-TR); Ley 32322; TUO Ley MYPE (DS 013-2013-PRODUCE)
