Gratificación 2026: how much you get in July and December

What is the gratificación?

Two extra payments a year: one in July, for Independence Day, and one in December, for Christmas.

Who gets it?

  • General regime: a full month's salary each time, however many hours you work.
  • Small business: half a month's salary each time.
  • Microenterprise: no, unless your contract includes it.

When is it paid?

  • By 15 July, for the work from January to June.
  • By 15 December, for the work from July to December.

How much is it?

If you worked the whole half-year, you get a full month's salary. If you worked less, you get one sixth of your salary for each full month; you need at least one full month. You also get an extra bonus of 9% (6.75% if you are in an EPS).

For example, on the minimum wage (S/ 1,130), the December gratificación is S/ 1,231.70 in total.

Is anything deducted?

No ONP or AFP contribution is deducted. It does count for income tax, if you earn enough to pay it.

If you stop working earlier

You are paid the proportional part, the "gratificación trunca", with your final settlement.
